How to Deliver Intelligence that Motivates Action: The 5 Key Elements of a Compelling CI Narrative
Wednesday September 16, 2026 2:10pm - 2:40pm EDT
Our job as CI thought partners is to engage expert audiences, who are also human beings with limited attention and memory. Stories, relative to pure statistics & facts, are what stick best in their minds. Stories are more likely to impact beliefs and motivate action. Our minds are literally wired to respond to stories.

But how can we leverage "storytelling" in communicating CI?

Even when the task is to describe trends, statistics & scientific facts, there are aspects we can leverage from great "storytelling" to better influence the way our audience feels about the CI we deliver.

Attendees will hear about 5 key elements of compelling CI "storytelling".

Faster Alerts Aren't Faster Decisions: Closing the Internal Half of Competitive Intelligence
Wednesday September 16, 2026 3:25pm - 3:55pm EDT
Avizum's agents monitor thousands of sources continuously and across languages, in production today across big pharma and small biotech and more than 30 indications. Alerts are validated and delivered within twenty minutes, filtered against intelligence questions rather than keyword strings, with the reasoning shown on every one. The first half of this session is
that system running live. Seven years of work sits behind it, including the early wins nobody agreed on and the long flat stretch where the compounding was real but invisible — Avizum, introduced here for the first time, is where that work arrives. The second half addresses a problem better monitoring does not solve. In Day and Schoemaker's study of 380 organizations, whenever a company was late to a signal, someone inside had known all along; the leadership team had not. External monitoring is getting easier, which makes the internal half the bottleneck. Field insight thins at every level on the way up and reaches decision-makers late, or not at all, and the causes are organizational rather than technical. No one owns the internal layer, so no one builds it — and the country teams holding the best insight have the least incentive to share it. The session closes on what closing that gap requires, and what Avizum is building to do it.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
· See continuous, multi-language competitive monitoring running in production across 30+ indications
· Understand why twenty-minute validated alerts change which questions CI can be asked to answer
· Recognize the internal insight gap as an ownership problem rather than a technology problem
· Assess where your own organization loses field signal on its way to the leadership team

Panel: How will AI Impact the Speed and Success Rate of Drug Development?
Wednesday September 16, 2026 4:30pm - 5:15pm EDT
Pointers to put Competitive Intelligence Teams ahead of the curve

  • AI promises to accelerate drug discovery, with better compounds entering the clinic that both reduce the time and money required to develop a drug. Is this already happening? The panel will discuss the challenges of applying AI and machine learning to compound discovery, preclinical testing, identifying the right patients, biomarker development, trial management, and ultimately in silico trials.
  • Discuss what CI Teams should look for to tell hype from reality as companies claim AI based success. Discuss which emerging trends, companies, technologies, and development milestones to pay attention to.
  • Examine how AI-driven advances could reshape competitive strategy over the next decade.
