Chris serves as Head of Competitive Intelligence at Pfizer. In this role he leads a global team of experts skilled at building a comprehensive view of the pharma environment, from the asset through sector levels, and integrating these knowledge and insights into every level of decision-making at Pfizer - from discovery projects to the board of directors.
Earlier, as Director of Competitive Intelligence, Corporate and Internal Medicine, Chris guided Pfizer's Corporate Intelligence function, providing the company's executive leadership team and board of directors with insights into the industry's macro-competitive landscape. During this period, he also provided expertise and strategic analysis to Pfizer's commercial teams in oncology, internal medicine, and infectious diseases.
Formerly, Chris was a Principal Scientist in Pfizer’s Internal Medicine Research Unit, leading a team of scientists to execute drug discovery projects from early discovery through Phase 1 clinical trials in the areas of diabetes, liver diseases and diabetic nephropathy. Over his 16 years with the unit, he contributed biology and drug discovery expertise to publications in the areas of atherosclerosis, cardiac failure, diabetes, kidney disease, muscle wasting, osteoporosis, and muscular dystrophy.
He started his pharmaceutical career as a research assistant and one of the first employees of La Jolla, CA-based Acadia Pharmaceuticals, working to advance preclinical programs in glaucoma and neurodegeneration.
Chris received a BA in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Vermont, and has earned master’s degrees in Business Administration, Regulatory Affairs, and Biology from the University of Rhode Island, Temple University’s School of Pharmacy, and Brown University. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and two teenage daughters.
